re: Season tickets?

I posted this yesterday in another thread:
Here are the games at home this year:
UTSA
Texas
Ole Miss
Nicholls St
Mississippi State
Alabama
South Carolina
Reasonably putting these into tiers:
Tier 1:
Bama
Texas
Tier 2:
Ole Miss
South Carolina
Miss St
Tier 3:
UTSA
Nicholls State
Theoretically, each season ticket holder could get 1 Tier 1 game and 2-3 from Tiers 2 and 3, if capacity is reduced to 50%. If it drops lower than that (which it could if recommendations are to keep the total # in the stadium below a certain threshold), then that could reduce those numbers even further.
From a fairness standpoint, though, if there are limits on seating in the stadium, fans should be able to opt out at no cost, and not lose their seats. In other words -- let's say I get the Texas, Ole Miss, and Nicholls State package. I should be able to say "nah, I'm good" but keep my seats for next season, and then I could take my chances on the secondary market.

I think any plan that is put out has to be practical and doable. First, there is no way to monitor how old actual ticket users are. Second, there are myriad laws outlawing age discrimination, and a lot of "old" season ticket holders will sue if the only reason they are not allowed to attend the Bama game is because of their age. Last, whatever plan is enacted has to be simple enough to manage. To me, the best way to manage this is to determine what the stadium capacity will be set at, then have a set system to spread out the selected tickets to ensure the distance between each set. Say the set capacity is 50% and we have 8 home games, then I should receive authorization to attend 4 home games. I can then attend the games or sell my tickets. Its not perfect, but it solves a lot of issues, while being fair to everybody. I sure that the big donors will be exempted, but for the average fan its about as fair as it can be.
