there is a fine line perhaps between homage and rip off, but Taxi Driver and The King of Comedy (arguably Scoreses' most underrated movie) are vastly superior movies. I think you could argue the only reason some people like/defend Joker is because its a "Batman" villain.

Both are depressing and not rewatchable for me, but I’d rather Joker over Taxi Driver. I found it more entertaining
