They are also more likely to be Vitamin D deficient with weaker immune systems in general.
People in big cities are also likely to be Vitamin D deficient since the buildings block out the sun and they have fewer open spaces in which to spend their time.

I'm saying that covid is more virulent for the least healthy groups because they're not vaccinated against Covid, whereas many of them are vaccinated for influenza.

There is a study that shows some correlation between receiving the flu shot and being more susceptible to coronaviruses as a class. In fairness, it’s a bit of a throwaway data point in the study. But I found it interesting given that nursing homes and prisons are a hotspot for the virus and everyone in those get the flu shot.
So, maybe?
