Honestly, it was even worse when I had cable/DVR. Especially on a CBS football game. I'd start watching around 3:15 instead of 2:30. Just sit my phone down somewhere until I caught up to live action, which was usually close to halftime. My dad finally caught on, and every now and then I would get a text from him asking if I was live or Memorex, from the old commercials back in the day. He still has cable and DVR and does what I used to do with starting a game later to avoid all the commercial breaks.

Now that I'm watching stuff over the air or on a stream, 30-45 seconds doesn't seem as bad. Yeah I can't pause it to go to the kitchen or bathroom, but it sure beats the $160 cable bill each month when all I really used it for was live sports.
