USC was a legitimate national champion that year. It’s not their fault that they finished the regular season #1 in all polls and still got excluded from the championship game. The Coaches Poll made us their champion because their contract with the BCS required it. However, most people outside of LSU felt like USC was the better team.

Tonight, we AP voters have to vote. First let's look at the teams, their overall records, their wins, their losses, their opponents, their SOS, their common opponents, their margin of victory, their most impressive win.......did I leave anything out? Oh yeah, I almost forgot, we're AP voters and we rank teams as well, so we can use our VERY OWN POLL and RANKINGS as a gauge to determine who's best as well as the other criteria. Let's pick our #1.......

USC 12-1 LSU 13-1
We keep hearing that LSU has the better record vs better teams. Let's see how they fared against OUR POLL before we crown them OUR CHAMPION.

USC played 13 games and only 3 against our top AP top 30 teams, let's look at LSU. WOW. LSU played 7 of our very own AP top 30 teams.....That's half of their schedule against the teams we, the AP, are saying are the best in America. USC beat only 3 of our top 30 teams. LSU beat 6 of our top 30 teams. The BCS, as flawed as it is, agrees that LSU's SOS is better than USC's. Let's look at their losses. USC lost to WHO? Who is Cal? Are they even ranked in our AP rankings? No they are not. Well LSU's only loss was to one of our ranked teams. Ok. We understand if you don't bring your "A" game against one of our top AP teams, it's possible you could lose against one of OUR ranked teams, but loosing to unranked Cal? Well, we, the AP voters, are making progress and agree with the BCS on SOS....gotta be all our AP teams LSU is playing...yeah. Let's find out if these 2 have common opponents. Joe said both played Auburn and Arizona.

LSU beat both common opponents by larger margin and in a much more impressive manner. Is that true, Jim? Let's see, LSU was up 31-0 in the 3rd qrt vs Auburn and allowed the backups to mop up were as USC had to keep their 1st teamers in the entire game for 23-0 win. Stats don't lie and LSU had better margin of victory vs both common opponents...Another argument USC cannot win. Heck USC has nothing over LSU as of yet. Mark May and Trev Alberts keep saying USC has "blown out" the competition. Maybe there some truth to that, since we, the AP, did some research and found out that 10 of USC's 13 games were not against our AP top teams. Well, time to vote for our AP champion.

The stupid idiots IGNORED THEIR VERY OWN POLL to crown their champion. The stupid idiots demonstrated that their poll, THEIR POLL, THEIR POLL, THEIR POLL, was useless, meaningless, irrelevant, and worthless to crown their champion. While ignoring their own poll, these idiots also ignored overall best record vs their SOS and everyone elses SOS. This speaks volumes about the integrity of these corrupt cheaters and if not for the BCS which did pick the TWO best teams, LSU would have been cheated out of a NC. I'll say it again....Pathetic, they couldn't even use THEIR OWN FRICKIN POLL to crown THEIR champion.
