It looks like Texas is surprisingly going to take Casey Cain's commitment today, and the Texas boards don't seem to be very happy about taking a lower rated WR this early.
What are the fans missing here? Anyone have positive info on him?
Thanks

Literally just looked up the kid for the 1st time. Not sure the story but Easton looks to be loaded up the next couple of cycles and some bad blood with LSU so maybe you guys trying to build a pipeline of sorts.

If he's at Easton getting exposure definitely wasn't an issue, first time I've heard of him. At least he has 5 minutes of highlight film from last season

Does Easton play good competition?
Posted on 5/15/20 at 7:31 am to Tehol Hornddict
Easton is a AAAA powerhouse in New Orleans area, so yeah he'll play some good teams. Not necessarily in his district but they always go fairly deep in playoffs and play tough teams in non-district play. They basically play Edna Karr every year (And lose )

They play in the New Orleans public school district in 4A and usually can matchup with just about anyone talent wise. They’ve had a run of really good players for about 6-7 years after many years of being irrelevant. For whatever reason, kids from that school have issues with LSU since Tyron Johnson signed in 2015 and transferred out after a year to Okie State.

They play the best competition in the state in St. Aug and Karr. Probably John Curtis as well.

Watch the Netflix show QB1 featuring Lance Legandre and take note of how Tyron “T-Bill” talks to the kids, you’ll understand why they shy away from LSU.
He tells them to go where they can be the star and insinuates not surrounded by a lot of other competition at your position.

What are the Texas "experts" saying about this potential pick up?

Goof for the kid, we obv. have other WR's way ahead of him, but glad if Texas takes him

Not much info yet on him as a prospect. I personally don't think the hudl looks that great compared to some other WRs, but maybe the coaching staff has more up to date information. His track times aren't good fwiw, but he also didn't get a full track season and frequently early track season times are poor

There has to be something like you said. Hopefully it works out for both sides.

That wasn't the only thing, he said LSU screwed him over by signing him then the WR coach left the day after or something. Then he never got along with the new WR coach and ultimately transferred. Basically insinuates LSU screwed him over, which is why it's tough to recruit Easton right now. We cant get traction seemingly with anyone. The top 2022 DB was supposed to be the game changer there, but a tOSU offers and he jumped on that, despite the fact he basically grew up in LA (from Cincy originally).

Really, I thought When tyron transferred his dad said it was to play in a wide open offense

Where is "T-Bill" now? Is he in the league? I know LSU has several WR's in the league.
F him!

Which, right or wrong, happens at every school in America. Silly to be so bitter about this. Also a poor decision to base your college choice on the WR coach that much.

It doesn’t help that Jerry Phillips, Munchie Legaux and Noel Ellis Sr are coaches there and all have a beef with LSU, either with not recruiting them or in Ellis’ case, his kid.

Easton just as well be in Iran.

None exactly proved LSU wrong, especially Ellis.
