A nice hoagie roll that has a durable/chewy exterior with a soft/tender interior. Gotta have some good crust on the exterior or your sandwich just falls apart in your hands.

Not sure if you have Publix up in your area but their house-made hoagie rolls from their bakery are perfect.

There's a solid recipe in here about 8 or 9 minutes in. Video drags on but the recipe is solid. I made a double batch last weekend for mothers day and they turned out great.

Friend,

Philly cheesesteak bread is to Amoroso's Bakery as poorboy bread is to Leidenheimer. Having said that, a Philly cheesesteak is no where near as good as a poorboy.

Friend,

In my opinion, the worst philly is better than the worst poboy while the best poboy is slightly better than the best philly. Therefore, I disagree with your assertion that a philly is “no where near as good as a poorboy”.

I hope this finds you well,
Caplewood

Kaing’s Hawaiin sweet rolls is always the correct answer. It’s the best of all breads ever made.
