Remember The Culling? It’s returning with the worst business model ever

First off, you'll have to buy yourself a copy, unless you bought the original or played it when it was F2P. And that initial purchase will only get you so far. You'll be able to play one match every day, but to play more you'll have to spend tokens. Packs of tokens require yet more purchases, or you can shell out for online passes that last for either seven days or a month. It's ridiculous.
Players can play one match online each day Players can play additional matches through the following means:
Winning an online match grants an Online Match Token
Packs of Online Match Tokens can be purchased (3 tokens = $0.99, 10 tokens = $2.99, 20 tokens = $4.99)
Online Passes providing unlimited online play can be purchased for 7 Days ($1.99) or 30 Days ($5.99)
Xaviant says it's shifted its "monetisation approach to ensure that players will be able to visit the island for years to come," but I doubt it's going to be able to attract enough players to keep the battles going for even a week. This is unlikely to be the comeback former players were hoping for.

How in the world do they actually think this will be profitable? Looks like a trash game and I wouldn't even play it if it were F2P.

This must be some "come up with the worst possible business model" test. Like who would even approve that with a straight face

Maybe they should take the hint that their game isn't popular enough to be profitable.

The carney token bullshite would only make sense if the game was completely free.
Who the hell is going to buy a game they limit your play time on behind tokens?
It's especially insane considering it's essentially a dead game they desperately need to grow the player base of.

Well that's going to bomb.

The sad part is that the game actually was kinda fun when it first came out.
