In Bloodsport, if Ray Jackson doesn’t let up and celebrate after getting the upper hand early against Chong Li, does he win the fight?

Possibly..and then Ray goes on to kill Frank after making him say Matae.

He was definitely showboating too much but maybe Chong Li underestimated him as well. Jackson was just a tough brawler. He had no technique. Chong Li had strength and technique.

Guess I know what's on the movie agenda tonight.

Yeah, was thinking had Jackson went for ground and pound, and li had time to collect himself..I still feel Chong Li would have had some ground technique.
Should have threw him off the ramp when he went down. Could have still showboated in the act.

Li was a badass. Ray Jackson was basically Kimbo Slice walking into MMA.
Tough brawler. He got some good licks in and Li wasn't fully prepared.
Li appreciated the showboat aspect of Jackson, he was known to do the same relentlessly.
But Li regained his composure and knew that Frank Dux was the main goal. So he learned from his mistakes and dealt with Jackson quickly and violently.

Chong Li trained with Bruce Lee.
No way Jackson ends up the winner. Dude had the skills of a Roadhouse bouncer.

Jackson stood no chance against Chong Li, but he thought he could whoop him.
Chong Li might have underestimated Jackson a bit, but he knew that Dux was the baddest motherfrickin’ American in town.
Bloodsport is so fricking awesome.

Do you listen to “The Baller Lifestyle”? They just did a pod on Bloodsport last week.

The Rewatchables Pod did an episode on Blood Sport. They discussed what Chong’s home life was like. Imagine him sitting down for dinner with his wife and kids...”How was your day, honey?” “It was rough. Things got out of hand and I killed a guy”

Always pictured him as a pizza delivery guy. When Frank sees the illusion of him starring at him in the window reflection while riding around, I like to imagine him being in his delivery uniform
