I could make a killing in construction just by being professional, answering the phone, and showing up.
Why do construction baws have a hard time with this?

I self-contracted our renovation a few years ago and seriously thought about quitting and becoming a residential GC...or finding a trade to manage.
The issue is similar across other industries. They are trained and have the skills in construction. Not in business operations, HR, software management, contracts, etc. There's physician-owned & managed practices across the country that are just as poorly run, but are masked by higher costs/reimbursements and some general framework that supports them.
