Let's talk keel guards. Discovered when I beached her on Fri evening, I took a pretty good chip in fiberglass. I can repair that. But afterward will likely install a keel gaurd.

On a fish and ski is it really gonna effect performance much?

Which brand? DIY or pay a shop?

Hamby's for the win. It will not impact performance unless your boat is a complete slug in which case it will not matter.

I Put a Megaware Keelguard on my bass boat 4 years ago for a similar reason. One of the places I fish regularly has no dock by the ramp and the bank is shell. It works great and hasn't budged since I installed it. The key is to make sure you prep the surface right. Wasn't a tough job at all.
