well paid someone else to do it as part of our renovations

floor was this: LINK

some before shots

and after

a lot of people told me to keep the terazo but it just never felt like a home with the big squat concrete blocks. floors were actually laid with no transitions and all flow as one solid flooring through the hall , bath, two front rooms, laundry room, kitchen and living room. we were worried we went to dark but im liking the colors and the contrast it gives the white cabinets in the kitchen .i’m loving the new floors and look forward to a life of kidproof and dog proof floors!

Keep the terrazzo and paint the brick wall

Hell of an improvement, especially in the room with the brick. Excellent choice! We got vinyl plank when we built our current house and it was one of the best decisions for my family with a big dog and 2 toddlers.

Same here. I put darker wood color in my last two houses. Much better look IMO.

thanks. and yea i know terrazzo is basically life proof but for some reason the hard squares never made this feel like a home.

I love the look of that wooden floor in the before picture. Would you call it parquet? Anyway, I am sure it is horribly dated but it reminds me of my childhood On Bonnabel.

yea the parquet was waaay too dated for me

there were 3 different types of floors downstairs. two different parquets and the terrazzo . i love how it’s now one continuous floor
