My immediate thought is what a POS, girly boy couldn’t work a shovel.

Pipeline flaggers make minimum $6k/month. I rotated on and off a flagging crew a few months ago. There were several days where we’d only flag in 2-3 trucks during a 10 hr shift. One day in particular we had approximately 0 trucks come through.

Other days we were on the side of the fricking interstate trying to stop traffic from a dual on/off ramp.

Literally had what appeared to be a late 40s car salesman get out of his car stomping towards me 50yds away yelling and screaming while we had multiple trucks offloading. That was the funniest shite I’ve seen in a looooong time! Poor SOB must have had one hell of a bad day.

Enjoyed it, but wouldn’t want to do it all day every day.

OSHA requires that work done with heavy machinery and definitely those working in operable roadways, be done with a traffic flagger. I'm thinking that his boss put him in a position that is required by law and if he's doing his job correctly, I usually give him a nod of appreciation because he's taking the thinking away from the usually uninformed driving public. Cheers to the flaggers!
