“AIDS” (HIV) tests actually do limit the spread because they make an otherwise asymptomatic carrier realize that they can spread the disease, and take appropriate precautions.

One facet of widespread coronavirus testing uses this same premise.

The huge difference is (other that someone took a D to A) they won't test you for Corona if you don't have symptoms.

Most people understand that if they start showing symptoms, get tested, comes back positive, they are basically under house-arrest for two weeks. I can understand a person who is in an at-risk of dying due to underlying health conditions wanting to know, but a younger person with no symptoms? What's the point? The test is just a snapshot in time anyway. You don't have any symptoms, go get tested, don't have it, catch it from the gas pump on the way home from the clinic.

Williamson County, TN, (Franklin) will test anyone, from anywhere, without symptoms, today. Just drive up and get it. You might wait 45-60 minutes, depending on when you go.

Davidson County (Nashville) requires that you have symptoms,
