About to pull the trigger on a new Ram. I’m seeing and hearing about great deals now with the virus situation. I’m in BR but going to Houston or other cities is not a problem.
Any recs would be appreciated

Ralph Sellers in Gonzalez is great.

Bought mine from Ralph sellers last year. The salesman wasn't great but I did get what I thought was a fair deal.

You’ll have more choices and cheaper prices in Texas. Bought mine in San Antonio from Bluebonnet. I fortunately had a meeting there so I didn’t have to pay to fly there, and then drove it back to BR.

Believe it or not Bergeron in Metairie gave me a great deal last year on a 19 limited. BTW, love the truck.

Acadiana dodge in Lafayette seemed very willing to make a deal last week when I was there... The new Rams are nice but I felt like the Ford was a better made truck after driving both. The 12” ram screen is pretty distracting and busy.

Mark Dodge in Lake Charles. Bought my 2500 from them last year. Best prices in the state. Check out their website. They also had the best selection when I was looking.
My buddy just bought one from them too. Worked out the whole deal on the phone, including trade in. They delivered it free to NOLA, and drove off with his old bucket of rust. They are definitely willing to make deals with this corona BS going on.
Don't step foot in All Star in Denham. They were horrible.

I’ve heard that about All Star. What issues did you have?

The typical “let me talk to my manager” bs. Wouldn’t come down on price at all. Tried upselling me something I didn’t want. I wanted the blackout package, which they didn’t have in a crew cab, and the manager suggested buying a can of paint from Walmart and spray painting the rims. Several hours of my life I’ll never have back.

The buy from Houston narrative gets a little over played. Yes some large Houston dealers may have an extra $100-$200 per unit to play with because of volume incentives from the manufacturer, but not thousands like many people think.
The local dealers are capable of getting really close to the bottom dollar price just some make you work a little harder to get there than others. The car salesmen are paid by commission so of course they want to sell the vehicle for more.
If you want to bypass the process and get to the bottom dollar the quickest send an inquiry into the online sales department. You’ll be able to get a “best price” the quickest. Let them know you’re working with a few other dealers and you have a seen some in Texas that you like (they’ll know they have to be competitive upfront).
As others have said Ralph Sellers is a good choice. They have been one of the top Ram volume dealers in the state for a while.

I just got done shopping Ram Limiteds and GMC AT4's and the Louisiana dealers were actually cheaper than some in Texas. If you're looking for the best deal, I'd reach out to Bluebonnet near San Antonio or Greenville Ram north of Dallas. I shopped around for about a month and these two were the best priced and easiest to deal with. Don't pay attention to the advertised prices online because most dealers use discounts you won't qualify for then add $2000 worth of accessories after the fact. I ended up buying a 2020 Limited 4X4 that was a demo unit and got it for $5k less than a new one

Autotrader
Type in exactly what you want
Extend the radius of your search to 300 or 500 miles
Sort by price lowest to highest
???
Profit
You can get a quote from a dealer out of state then show that to a local dealer and see what they can do
