Blake Bortles and Trent Dilfer have won made it to CCG. Dak is better than both and Zeke is a better back than either of them.
Dallas’s problem was coaching, not talent.
You’re only helping my point.

Dak is not Mahomes.
This is your problem you think it should be merit based. That Mahomes is better doesn;t change the fact that he will still eat up a large share of the cap and they will not be able to pay other positions, so according to your theory they should trade hime (imagine what you get for Mahomes, a helluva a lot more than Dak ) and draft some rookie they could pay less.

No I’m not. Those inferior players took their team to the CCG. The Cowboys can pay Dak $35 or $35 million next season, that doesn’t change the quality of the roster. That doesn’t make him a better or worse player.
The contracts are going up because the tv payouts are going up. A decade or so ago when the cap was $100 million, top quarterbacks were getting $10-15 million. Now they get $20-30 million a year and the cap is at $200 million. Yeah if you look at the dollar amount it looks ridiculously high. However the percentages have not changed at all.
Drafting a qb later and hoping he gives you anything close to what Dak - a top 10 guy - gives you is asinine. No one is going to give you anything close to a great deal because they would have to part with capital AND sign him to a deal.
