And yet, nobody I work with got sick with any kind of symptoms and we were open until March 17th. Not one person at the front desk who handle hundreds of credit cards and IDs from all across the world every day, and not one dealer or slot attendant.

I've been wondering about Vegas ever since this pandemic started. That entire city is based on gambling and hospitality and they are completely shut down now. Casinos are basically cruise ships that don't float; they are germ factories with a ton of old degenerates mobbing about - 90% of whom will be hopping on a plane within a few days to transport their newly acquired virus to their home community. I don't see how they open up soon.

Also their secondary markets (real estate, etc) have always been highly volatile and "bubbly". They were probably the worst hit market during the 2009 housing collapse.

Vegas will be interesting to watch going forward.

There is a pretty simple solution for this: Form an app, and you put money down through your phone.

Lol casinos will never, ever let people use their phones at a table game

We're in far better shape than a place like New Orleans...not that it's saying much.

The bigger issue out here is trying to avoid becoming California East.

I assume many employees, especially after getting checks, might be hesitant to put themselves back into a casino environment where it’s almost impossible to social distance and every machine and table is touched by thousands of people.

That without even accounting for the regular crowd of degenerates that go there. Not your weekend gamblers, the sad souls that make you a little depressed every time you walk in.

They're typically gross, unkempt, lacking in hygiene.

Oh no, shaking in my boots

Who gives a shite if healthy people want to go gamble? People are gross. Germs are always around. With this train of thought nothing would ever reopen again.

Keep little old grandmas away from the slot machines or let them play at their own risk, but dont shut down an entire city

A second wave of what, exactly? And outside of a vaccine, what would ever stop a second wave?

If you only have a fraction of the slot machines on, you can safely play those.

You can have designated spots 6 feet apart for blackjack and roulette.

There are going to be some serious deals to be had for people not afraid of going to Vegas once the casinos start to open. Macau was giving away cash cards, free nights, etc.

Umm.. A second spike in new coronavirus cases.

Shelter in place order until we get a vaccine is what is safe at this point. Anything less than that is going to kill more people. Nobody should be advocating for a policy that greatly endangers american lives.

You realize there are other contagious diseases out there that can kill you just like CV. Why aren't you scared of those? How do you find the courage to get in a car or truck and drive on the hwy?

To be honest I’m not all that scared of getting it. I am scared of my mother getting it though because she has horrible lung issues.

Whatever lol. This virus predominantly kills old people with underlying conditions like any other respiratory virus. My wife had / has the virus and I think the shutdown is asinine.
