First thing I thought of. If not for the Miracle on Markham or whatever the hell they call it, LSU, at the very least, makes 3 consecutive trips to the SEC championship. Of course we had the Bluegrass miracle go our way that year and we probably lose to Georgia without Mauck at QB, but losing the way we did was a gut punch for sure at the time. Especially considering we were that close with Marcus Randall at QB. While on the subject, the Cotton bowl loss at that seasons end was a bummer as well. Poor Jack Hunt, along with whoever had to cover him, was absolutely abused and run the frick over by Roy Williams all day. Other than a long run by Randall and Bradie James chasing Williams down, that was a long day. Even more so after not sleeping from new years eve the night before and like a 10 am start. Anybody remember that 18 wheeler on fire on the interstate near the Cotton Bowl that morning?

Of course, we get a healthy Mauck for the start of the 03 campaign and the rest is history. Perhaps all that stuff was supposed to happen and allowed him to make the necessary adjustments and not need to rely on his legs as much and develop more as a passer. It all worked out at the end thank God.

And 05' Tennessee has to be the most dejected and literally sick I've ever been leaving Tiger Stadium. Everything that was going on, and to have Rick freaking Clausen, of all people, come in and dink and dunk us all 2nd half to eventually pull it out in OT? Gross.
