Dallas area fisherman

So I never realized how many good places there were to catch Large Mouthed Bass in the DFW area on the shore. I always assumed those guys fishing on the shore were just tight lining catfish but upon further research there are some GREAT bass fishing spots.
I’m going to go fish Bachman tomorrow since it’s right next to my house. Anyone got any favorite spots or tips for shore bass fishing in the Dallas area?
White Rock Lake and Bachman are my easiest to get to areas but I don’t mind driving a little

Lake Fork is one of the best big bass lakes in the state.

Lake Fork is a near 2 hour drive from Dallas. While I’m not opposed to driving that distance for a pre planned trip if I’m fishing all day.
I’m really looking for spots in the city I can sneak away to for a quick hr or so long fish
Any of you guys got any tips or spots on Bachman to look for?

We live out by Lavon Lake (Wylie), there's a lot of bank fishing areas there but right now the parks are closed. It's a corp of engineers lake.
Do a google search
I'm going tomorrow and fishing where 78 crosses, see map: LINK

I’m getting jealous. I’ll be at the office in Rowlett.

I'm taking my son so we will probably try for crappie, they are on the banks/in the trees or should be. I'll probably bass fish some.
There's a lot of riprap (rocks) you can walk and catch bass.
The lake is full of sandbass also
If you have facebook there's a page for lakelavonfishing.

There’s a Bank Fishing forum on Texas Fishing Forum and a Bass Forum too. Use the search function to find posts about Bachman and White Rock Lake. Be careful on White Rock Creek because parts are pretty sketchy from what I’ve read.
Here’s a map of Texas Community Fishing Lakes. You should be able to fish these spots with no concerns about legal issues.
Get a kayak and you’ll have so many more options - WR Lake, Bachman, Lavon, Ray Hubbard, maybe even Joe Pool, Ray Roberts, and Texoma.
Shad spawn will be on in the first week of May - get ready! Go with a sandbass guide on Lavon in a couple of weeks for crazy action. There’s at least on “party boat” guide there who you pay a flat fee to go with and others pay the same fee to go along. Almost guarantee that you will limit out (limit is 50? 75?).

I don’t think party fishing boats will be an option for awhile

I’ve probably been to a 100+ random ponds across the northern DFW area. I use Google Maps to find the water. Redfin is another good map that actually marks water better than even Google. There’s no shortage of places to go fish around here.
Be careful with the neighborhood ponds as some will run you off. I avoid golf courses, for example, even though they often have really good fish populations. There is a ton of pressure on the pond fish in the Dallas area. Use an app like Fish Brain to find the popular spots.
I've got what I like to refer to as "my ditch" behind my apartment...it's basically a runoff from some other bodies of water but pretty nasty in terms of pollution. However, it holds a shocking number of large bass. Well, even 'my ditch' which I assumed no one would know about / fish gets overrun with people this time of the year + early summer [namely because of Fish Brain and people posting catches]. Currently, I'm trying to fish it a lot right now before the pressure hits its peak. They are still pre-spawn which has made for some very good days lately (winter was brutal in this body of water...to the point where I thought the fish had died ). Caught a ~6lber last weekend which was the biggest I've found. Generally catch a couple dinks and couple in the 1 1/2 to 3lb range.
