Well, I used to do about a dozen recruiting seminars a year in the DFW area for a few high schools. One of the messages to parents was that the recruiting services can do nothing more than you cannot do. No inside contact allowed. No insider info that is not available on the web. Most parents in that area are just lazy & can write the check, so those guys manage to stay in business.

I heard the pitch from half a dozen of these guys earlier this century & it is what motivated me to put the presentation together & try to get the word out. Started at my son’s school & it just grew over the years; never solicited the schools, but the word got out & the invitations came. That should say something about how the coaches feel, unless they are earning a “referral” fee. FWIW, I charged $ “0”.

Interesting. He plays for a small school and just don't want him to miss any possible opportunities.

Where I went to school the head coach was way more involved in recruiting.
