Do you really honestly think that will ever happen?

Perhaps, if we have more folks like Trump or who learn from him and grow some balls.

Why is this board obsessed with having big government?

Sorry this is far different from "big government" as you cast it. This is a fundamental charge of the Constitution to provide for the common defense. Not all wars are waged with weapons and a stable, workable economy is the lifeblood of our nation and goes straight to maintaining our country's well being, livelihood, and common defense.

You think all the Senate Republicans voted for a shitty big government bill? No, the whole infrastructure that generates revenue back to the government, including the monies that are being invested back into revitalizing the economy to resuscitate it, stem from a healthy flow of economic activity that was directly interrupted to deal with this virus.

This situation absolutely has nothing to do with some random liberal welfare handout. Totally different set of circumstances here and unfortunately we don't have much time to make it a perfect bill.

In times of crisis, sometimes it requires making the best decisions under the circumstances. As an anecdote I have used before goes, if someone in front of you falls and hits their head then begins bleeding all over the sidewalk, if you're by a store that has first aid supplies you run in grab what you need to stop the bleeding THEN you go back in the store and take it up with the store. If the person is injured, you don't walk calmly up and down the aisle being selective of the brand of bandage you're going to use then patiently wait in line to check out to administer first aid. Hell no, you do what you have to do to mitigate the crisis then get the time needed to handle the situation as properly as possible.

Right now our economy needs "first aid". Those who tossed in pork and played games to get the monies circulating hopefully will pay a price later.

You have a fundamental misunderstanding of the economy and what effect this will have on it. This will only make things worse down the road. How many bandaid have we had to this point? It's never helped. Its built on lies and it's time the thing collapsed already.

This is corporate welfare with a few bucks tossed in to appease people who don't understand how much they're being robbed.
