myself, like you, think his future is at DE, but he may see quicker playing time on the inside.

DE probably has the most seniority of any position on the team

Farrell Sr
Thomas Jr
McClendon Jr
Gaye Jr

Glen Logan, if they choose to use him as a DE- Sr.

Then you have to ask yourself, what are Andre Anthony(Sr), Travez Moore(Sr) and Soni Fonua(Jr)?

All three of those guys are DE's to me.

So there are 7 or 8 Jr's or Sr's at DE he has to pass up.

Coaches just love what is safe. Mature bodies with game experience, who know what to do.

We aren’t short of bodies for sure. Just not sure of the quality of bodies and whether we have a bunch of square pegs that we are trying to force into round holes.

I don’t see anyone better equipped to be a SDE than Roy. Maybe Farrell whose probably more of a DT. He’s more sawed off with short area ability. Or Cherry if you think he’s good enough. Fonua doesn’t seem like that guy or be would’ve made the field more last season. Etc.

We seem to have a lot of DTs and WDE/OLB on the roster. I don’t see many 280-290-lb. guys who are going to hold up in the run game but also possess the athleticism/mobility like Roy.

I guess we will see if he can come around quickly and be as good as I think he is.
