re: Trump has really changed his stance on this virus in the last 24 hours

I get both arguments, but this extremely sudden pivot is confusing. It leaves many people wondering what the hell is it that government is asking us to do. Four or five days ago, we all needed to do what we could to limit the spread, now we have shifted to needing to get things back open. On top of this sudden shift from the White House, you still have escalating case numbers, state and local governments enacting stricter measures, etc. To the Average Joe worker, it is confusing as to what he or she should be doing.

Roll tide ravens, the OP is misleading
Trump said he would “love” to see America get back to work by easter. We all would
It wasn’t a deadline or an order. It was a mere opinion.
The policy has not changed.
We will re-evaluate in a week as to the best path forward, which was ALWAYS the plan for the 15 day social distancing.
If the docs and public health experts say extend it, then it will be extended

This is one of the problems. We have a 24 hour ticker counting every case in the world and many just don't have the correct prospective. If we would have tracked H1N1 real time or any flu for that matter you're would have seen similar trajectories.
dont get me wrong. I think this stuff is dangerous but we've been going overboard and we must consider the economy. The economy and public health are not mutually exclusive.
