I'm curious like you about anyone fishing it
Well, if you like speckled trout now is the time to go. Live shrimp does well and in the Michoud slow rolling plastic grubs on the bottom does ok too.
Can also find bull reds and bull sharks in the bigger channels, dead mullet or trout will catch those.
The shallower marsh holds nice reds as well as nice largemouth bass.
That's about all there is to know.

Usually, yes, this would be the time to go, but with high water in the Pearl water is very dirty and fresh. Went the past 2 weekends thinking I would catch specks, but only a handful. Reds are biting if you can find them, but channel cats are the most plentiful right now. You can catch them anywhere you go with shrimp on the bottom. As the river drops Specks should make their normal spring run. Should be soon.

Any luck ever catching white trout out that way?
It's good to hear someone who knows a little about that area. I live about a 15 min boat ride away from there but never really fish it
