Mardi Gras weekend (which started on Friday, Feb 21, 2020) is when the most people were in New Orleans celebrating Mardi Gras (or celebrating the days leading up to Mardi Gras which is referred to as just "Mardi Gras").

Mardi Gras, which in English means Fat Tuesday, is the day before lent. Its a day to indulge before having to sacrifice during lent.

What you are referring to is what is known as Carnival Season, which starts January 6th, which is known as King's Day.

You live in South Louisiana and don't know this shite?
