I hope so. I really like the AK more than the AR on a philosophical level. Bigger bullet, more crudely built. It should be much cheaper than the AR but market saturation has really beat those ar prices into the ditches.
I love the AK platform. I have had them in 3 calibers at 1 point but just 7.62 and 5.56. I do enjoy them a lot and hopefully instead of building, I can just buy what I want. Magazines may get stable and even decrease in price and availability as PSA is going to make true polymer magazines just like the imported ones. They said they will be making them in all 3 calibers which for those of us with 5.56 AKs, it's seriously good news.

Yeah the AK party was over a long time ago.
Back in the day the guns and ammo were super cheap. Wish I would have bought more.
Unfortunately so true. Very sad.
I remember when Chief Thunder opened up Progressive Arms and sold Circle 10 7.62 polymer mags for $9.99 forcing K-var to drop their prices down from $49.99. Hell "krinkov" barreled parts kits were as low as $199.99 and $239.99 for complete kit. I bough a 4 pack East German bakelite 5.45 mags, unissued and came in an unissued east German rain drop pattern ammo pouch for $19.99.
Didn't know it at the time but it really was a great time to get stuff.

Best purchase I ever made was a Bulgarian made ak with Milled receiver back in the 90’s. Paid under $400 and now it’s worth 3-4 times that.

My first ak was An Arsenal SLR-95 back in I want to say 97 or 98. Still have it. Milled receivers are so much "nicer" feeling IMHO.

Cheaper Than Dirt in name only. They were expensive during the Obama pandemic too.

This is true. I bought a milled Mak90 last year for a really good price. The milled guns feel a lot more robust and have a much smoother action than even my Russian and Bulgarian stamped rifles.
