That map pretty much doubles as places where the governments aren't really testing. Right now, super rich Singapore population: 5M has about ~350 official cases after putting in place strict testing and quarantine measures. Nearby Indonesia which is a little more than 50 times as big, poor and doing absolutely nothing about Covid-19 also has~350 official cases. The amount of testing being done seems like a significant confounding factor here.

that doesn't explain deaths. if it's true that the number of cases is dependent on testing, and they aren't really doing anything socially, the deaths should be through the roof. heck, the deaths aren't high worldwide right now and that's after at least 4 months
