For some reason it seems like it's not cool to like The Last Samurai but I think it's amazing and I thought Cruise was amazing

My only problem with it was *spoiler* is that Cruise should have died. The movie would have been 10x better.
I think Ran might be my favorite followed by Yojimbo/sanjuro.
