The empty baseball fields are depressing

I was on the road earlier this morning and was passing by the local high school. There had been a day long tournament scheduled for today. I decided to go pass by the field. Not a soul there. Beautiful spring day, nice warm south breeze, field looked great.

Must be real depressing for the kids that would be playing. My kid finished HS last year and I know how much some of his friends that are HS seniors love playing baseball.

I understand the reason for the cancellations, but man it’s depressing me.

I've been riding around with my "Kayden steals bases like he stole my heart" Yeti rambler all morning. Its surreal.

Sounds like a good time to get plenty of batting practice in for Brayleign. He (she?) is going to be so far ahead of all the other travel ballers this time next year, it won't even be fair.

You wouldn’t have fun playing me in tennis. I was pretty bad at 18 and I’m much older now - lol

Baseball is boring as hell. I realize there are nuances within the game that you have to pay attention to. It doesn't matter, it's still not all that interesting. How are so many people crazy in love with this absolutely boring sport to the degree that they waste their lives at a ball park baking in the hot sun? I mean I understand that in the 50's - 60's because there was nothing else to do, but it's 2020. Not saying just get rid of it altogether but this 8-track of a sport needs a few new rules to inject some excitement.

I sort of agree. I’m actually not a huge baseball person myself. My kid played only rec ball and was a good enough athlete to play outfield his senior year. I enjoyed just socializing with other people at the games.

I’m the farthest thing from a baseball junkie. I didn’t even play past 15 years old.

I think a part of it is that baseball, atleast at the youth level, can be played by kids independent of size and speed. Hitting a ball is a skill that can be learned regardless of how short, overweight, or slow Braxton is.

Baseball is the single greatest sport ever invented.

Louisiana state hs powerlifting meet was supposed to be next week; postponed until further notice. Since kids cant use school facilities, only those with access to private venues can continue training.
