Aren't you "Rickh" on blackandgold.com? If so, you told me about 7 years ago on there that you wanted to follow up on a conversation we were having, and you never returned. I have a long memory.
The comps to the flu are not hard to understand. The reasons have already been outlined in this thread. If you want to be hysterical about this virus, then you have to answer for the tens of thousands who have died of the flu, while you were going about your life, without a care in the world about it.
The virus is a virus. It does what viruses do, and yet not near to the degree of what the flu is currently doing. The reaction to this virus, however, is clearly political. Cause panic, hope the economy crashes, as a result, and then blame it on Trump, right as election season is coming up. Even though Trump was already taking preventative measures to keep possibly infected people from traveling here before anyone in the media started fake panicking, and the Democrats cried that it was xenophobic.
Your sanctimony is not very moving.
