Dennis Johnson went from intern to DL coach, not just analyst. The funny thing is he was a frequent scapegoat on tRant until Aranda thought enough of him to offer Meatball a job at Baylor then tRant agonized over him leaving.

Bennie is a great guy as well. He does a bunch of charity work for his impoverished hometown in Coushatta.
I played him in basketball in high school and I undercut him when he was about to dunk on a teammate of mine. Like I pulled some cheap bullshite that could really hurt him. There was one red river player driving on a fast break, my friend was right behind him and Bennie was behind my friend.
The first guy from red river throws one off the back board and my boy is about to get nuts-in-the-face jammed on so I run as fast as I can under Bennie and he flips backwards and lands on his back.
He got up and knocked me out with one punch. I mean fricking wrecked me. We played them again about a month later and he comes walking up to me before the game. He was about 6’2” 250lb at the time and I was 5’10” 170lb but I couldn’t be a bitch so I stand up like I could do anything and he shook my hand and apologized for losing his cool. Again- he was completely justified, when I saw it on film I was pissed at myself for such a bush league move.
We went about our day, just I had a little piss in my pants.

I'd say that is how men should handle things. You did what you had to do to prevent posterization, his playing career probably flashed before his eyes on the way down and he retaliated accordingly. Shake hands later on and be baws about it.
Now he is a millionaire, so it worked out fine.

I’m honestly still mad at myself for not just bear hugging him around the mid section but you live and you learn. No grudges.
Again- great hire, he could end up being an absolutely dominant recruiter in North LA.

Hiring former players to analyst and mentoring roles and hiring your buddy as the offensive coordinator are two very different things.
not only that, but it helps lock down the state for recruits

This is what everyone that is against the hire should realize...O is trying to wall off the entire state.
If there is a player in NWLA or NELA (my old stomping grounds) good enough to ball at LSU, we should have a strong, consistent presence in their life for their recruitment.
It is genius really...hire guys that love LSU, played for LSU, and made millions later on via their time at LSU. O knows what $ell$ to the kids.

I remember when our fans were stupid enough to complain about analysts.
Oh, wait .....
