When mine was that young, it was either because she wants dirty, needed a tighter or swaddle, or wasn't getting enough food. Every time we checked through those 3 options, she would get us at least 3-4 hours. Found out we needed to suppliment formula until my wife could catch up.

IMO, crying it out doesn't work for the first 3-4 months. They just learn to get louder quicker
