Not the same kids, but the recruiting classes are more similar than you might think.

The last 3 recruiting cycles, Louisville had the 23rd, 3rd, and 13th ranked classes.

LSU had the 16th, 2nd and 19th classes.

That’s a negligible difference.

Now, maybe you could argue McDonnell is a better recruiter and would pull in better classes than Mainieri has, but you can’t really argue that he’s done more with less.
