Where did I say that he isn’t allowed to have an opinion? Hell, I believe that homosexuality is a sin but that doesn’t mean that I’m going to go out and put a sign on my yard like that.

He is allowed to have an opinion and express that opinion however he wishes within the limits of the law.
Those around him, and anyone who reads of his story, are also allowed to express their opinions however they wish within the limits of the law.
Personally, I don't place any sign in my yard, especially a confrontational one, as I don't want to risk retaliation from unhinged types.

If your opinion is that some people don’t deserve acceptance or love, sure, you can have it- but you deserve ridicule and to be socially ostracized. Intolerance for intolerance is not morally equivalent to intolerance.

He can have his opinion. And I can call him a douchebag for having that opinion. Just like you can call me one for mine. What I'd be against is the government telling him he can't have that opinion even if I don't agree with it.
