I get that argument but I don’t buy that he interfered with the play, which is the actual rule. The goal was a foregone conclusion. Just because you are in front of the goalie doesn’t make it interference.

He became part of the run of play. Bc he knows if he does not move his legs the ball does not go in. Which can effect a GK decision and if the ball goes in or not.

By the rules of the game you can't sit in front of a GK in an offside position like that. He was already offside when the shot happened.

Its the correct call by the rules of the game today.

I pulled out my NFHS rulebook (yes, it's not the IFAB or FA rulebook, but they have the exact same offside rules) because it's the closest one to me. They have a diagram of this exact same scenario minus the deflection off the defender and it says it's offside.
