On PS4. Which one should I go with?
For context, I game a a lot, almost daily, but I’ve only been playing a limited amount of games - RDR2 and RDR2 online, Witcher 3, Stardew Valley, and Madden 2020 (though just within the past two weeks). TIA

I haven't played AC yet, but I loved God of War.

God of War is one of my top 5 games from this generation. Its a semi open world so there's some exploring and side quests as well as light RPG elements mixed in. Combat is super fun too. It was also interesting to see Kratos evolve as a character and the setting change from Greek to Norse Mythology.
I've played AC Oddessey and it's good but I never finished it. Get God of War first and you wont regret it.

I've never played AC but there's no way it can be better than God of War, especially since they crank out a new AC game every other year.

GoW by far. I enjoyed AC:O, but you do tire of it. Stories dull out and the combat is too easy once you get halfway through the game. GoW doesn’t have that

I've played both and I like AC oddysey a little more, but I'm kind of weird.

I love god of war but I only played about 3 hours of this open world nonsense they did with it despite playing through there previous 3 editions twice apiece. Some IPs don’t need to be Open World and God of War is one of them.
I’ve logged at least 70 hours in Odyssey and would probably have twice that amount of GTA and Battlefront didn’t suck me away here and there.
Take that how you will.

I've played all of the AC games and I just finished GoW for the first time. Not sure if this is recency bias, but go with GoW. It's a GREAT game. The beginning is a bit sluggish, but once you get a little over an hour in, it's bad arse.

I liked them both a lot. Odyssey is one of the best open world games I've ever played. I felt like I got more of my money's worth playing Odyssey but the story is a bit weaker.

God of War if you want a tight narrative and 40 hour game if you do the side missions.
ACO if you want a million side quest and 100+ hours.
I didn't play AC Odyssey but I recently played Origins. I liked it a lot early in but by the end of the game I was ready for it to be over. I played 100+ hours and still had plenty of side quests and areas to explore.

AC:Odyssey is a game that I can play for hours. Huge open world map. Tons of side quests. The DLCs are good as well. Explore Atlantis, Elysium, and the Underworld.

I think I'm at around 70 hours right now and still have a little more to do.
