what if Bobby Knight does not slam down that phone in '87 - LSU wins that national championship in the Superdome

It wasn't that he DID slam the phone; it was that he slammed the phone down and berated the officials, and got away with it without getting a technical called on him.

If he got the technical called and we made the foul shots, that would have been enough to win that game on go on to the Final Four.

And knowing Dale Brown's record in tournaments and two previous Final Fours, I doubt that means we automatically "win the Championship".
