If I remember right, there was a MS river diversion that was pumping all kinds of fresh water into it making the fishing great. But it was dropping salinity levels further south and oyster fisherman complained loud enough to get it slowed.
Someone else can correct me if I’m wrong. My brother and I had quite a few awesome trips over there years ago.
