So the players have Thursday and Friday to recover and prepare. What exactly is the problem? It's not like they are playing a late Wednesday night game and have to get up the next morning for an 11am game.
It’s not just a question of whether there’s time to recover/game prep. You have to look at it in relative terms.
Texas A&M plays at home vs. Kentucky tonight at 7 PM, then they come to BR to play LSU Saturday morning. Their players get home at 10-11 PM tonight and can go through their normal game prep on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. Travel to BR Friday evening, ready to play Saturday morning.
LSU plays at Florida tomorrow night at 8 PM. Our players get home at 2-3 AM Thursday morning. They are then more limited on Thursday due to the late night and shorter recovery time. Normal Friday practice, ready to play Saturday morning.
So A&M has Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday to prep while LSU has (limited) Thursday and Friday. You can chalk this up to “that’s how TV scheduling works,” to a point. But Wade’s gripe is that in 9 weeks of SEC basketball (x14 teams), there have only been 3 cases of teams playing a late Wednesday game followed by an early Saturday game (LSU twice, Auburn once) and LSU is the only team that’s had to play a late Wednesday road game followed by an early Saturday game.
Doing the math, the short turnaround makes up 2% of the SEC basketball schedules, but somehow LSU gets 2 out of 3 and both of them start with road games? There’s no reason that should happen.

And let's be honest, this isn't a back-to-back issue like the NBA, where they play on consecutive nights. College kids have no problem "recovering" from a Wed night game in time for a Saturday noon game. It's just not a legitimate issue for the players.
Besides, for the SEC tournament, player have to play on consecutive days, and if it's a team that plays the first day and they keep advancing to the final, they would have to play 5 days in a row. Yet nobody bitches about that.
College legs can handle it.
