How does Sanders choose his cabinet?

Hypothetical conversation with his Chief of Staff.
Bernie: Okay, we need a Secretary of State
CoS: Steinberg over at DOJ would be my recommendation.
Bernie: What are his qualifications?
CoS: Well, he as an assistant SoS under John Kerry...
Bernie: No! No! No! Is he gay? Trans? Black? Geezus, what the hell am I thinking. Steinberg. He's just a jew?
CoS: 'Fraid, so...
Bernie: Can he be gay? Will he come out of the closet for the team?
CoS: His wife might object.
Bernie: Okay. Who else you got?
CoS: How about Connie Lingus? She'd be a good choice. Career State Department candidate. She's gay AND black.
Bernie: Nope. I'm afraid of her. She could break my neck.
CoS: Phyllis Atio over on the Harvard Faculty might work. She's trans. Goes by Phil, now.
Bernie: Nah. She's, errr, he's richer than me. Gotta have a regular person.
CoS: That's all we got.
Bernie: That's it? Surely you must have someone else.
CoS: Please. Don't call me Shirley. That's the everyone in the binder. Unless...

CoS: We do have a black trans woman named Tonto Suzuki-Gomez. She's an unpaid intern on the campaign staff...
