Been rewatching/catching up recently
Forgot how good the Arctic race was.
The trip to find the origin of the Nile might be the funniest.
Tough to pick a favorite. Right now I’ll go with the Bolivia special overall.

The north pole is still my favorite followed by the Amazon trek in the piece of shite SUVs. I also always found myself rewatching Spine of Africa with Oliver.
But Vietnam is probably the best top gear special of all time. It's not my favorite, but it's undeniable how great it is. it's the funniest they they ever were and I think that period from about 2008-2011 was the peak of the show.
I liked the "John" episode across Mongolia as well, but Grand Tour just doesn't have the same magic as old top gear. Partially because they're so much older but not having unlimited budgets and musical scores makes for a big difference.

I still crack up even thinking about how they were running from “the boys.”

Patagonia special was pretty epic. I'm current watching expedition overland on amazon. Documentary on a group driving the pan American highway. Season 3 is from columbia to the tip of SA. It satisfies my craving for the adventure and has some great photography in season 2 and 3 when they got a bigger budget. But that part of world is the trip I have always wanted to do. They drive a lot of the same places as TG/GTA in the bolivia/columbia/patagonia trips

If memory serves, was Bolivia where they started on the barge on the river bank? Hilariously wonderful!

A New one
This is asinine. 1 show, that's it for new season. So, for an extra 1/2 hour of show, we get to wait 4 months for a new one? Compared to 5 or 6 already at an hour? What a deal.

I like when he went to Laguna Seca because it's an underrated track in real life but famous in race car video games.
And he does play video games of that track to try and prepare.
And I'm talking about the infamous Corkscrew.
And Jeremy botched it lap after lap. Until he finally realized it wasn't like the video game and he had to really throttle down because of the G force. It's not just the tight turn but the quick G-force elevation drop.
He said it was far more demanding then it looked and hard to control the racecar.
