I find it hilarious how relatively well he’s doing in the polls despite being the antithesis of the modern Democrat party. DU is furious

It’s a lack of good alternatives.
No one who supports Sanders or Lieawatha is flipping to him.
Buttplug isn’t seasoned and has little going for him besides being gay.
He has basically poached Biden’s support when Biden fricked up and can poach some of Klobochar’s support. But that is about the upper limit for him barring a major event.

Away from Twitter and the media, Bloomberg is basically where the Democratic Party is.
Combat climate change. Tweak the tax code. Improve health care coverage options. Make sure people get a fair shot at education and employment.
... but that’s not fun so we constantly hear about the lunatics.
