The weather channel looks like the rain might even be pushing through before the parade.

Pretty sure Bacchus would fight that.
Why? Plenty of time between the two to roll a Muses parade without a full complement of marching units. Probably, very few marching units, really.

I could see muses rolling Friday with no bands or marching crews
Maybe, that's a long Fri night though even without units.

Don't a lot of the Chaos members ride in D'eat and other parades?
Yes, which is why I think they would just punt.

Chaos cancelled last year and Muses adjusted their start time due to weather

And Thoth is a huge parade with an extra long route. Muses wouldn't technically start until like 4-5
Unless Okeanos breaks down (which, yeah, it happens sometimes with that group), Thoth is usually clear of Napoleon by 3 pm. That gives 2 hours for a unitless Muses to roll. Plenty of time.
What would be the only possible issue is lineup space. I could see a route deviation where they line up on Napoleon on the lake side, and start the parade at St. Charles and Napoleon from the opposite direction (like what Okeanos used to do).

Yeah, that's a possibility as well, if the rain is supposed to be lighter, the later in the evening.
If it's t-storms from 4-9 pm, that's not going to work.

One year before Katrina, I don't recall which one, I seem to remember there were like 7 parades on that Sunday.
They started at like 8 am.
Babylon
Ponchartrain
Carrollton
Okeanos
Midcity
Thoth
Bacchus
Or something like that. We spent the night and we were pretty much all passed out during Bacchus.

My buddy David Bernard just said rain should be gone by 3 pm Thursday. Maybe a 20% stray shower after that.
Said it will be windy and cold though.

In mobile right now. Supposed to be a parade kicking off in 6 minutes but I see more cops than people. Didn’t Mardi Gras start here?

Big thing is even if it's still raining by parade time Thursday, it shouldn't be too heavy and lightning won't be a concern. Parades should be able to roll with that.
Looking at it today, this is about the best weather week we've had for Mardi Gras in a few years.
