Be sure to cancel credit cards that are either in your name or joint accounts. I had a buddy whose wife was cheating on him with her personal trainer, which he didn’t know was happening at the time. She tells him she doesn’t love him anymore and wants a divorce. She maxes all his credit cards that are in his name along with joint accounts and even gets some credit opened at a few stores in his name. It almost ruined him financially and she got the kids, house and part of his 401k, etc.
It took him years to clean up the destruction she caused on his finances and credit but she got dumped by the trainer within a few months and turned into a fat slob. He remarried a beautiful woman who is loyal to him after many years so in the end it worked out.

Not just current ones. If you ever had a credit card with her, give written notice to the credit card company to close the account. i had a client whose ex-wife called on an old CC that they had stopped using for a couple of years and asked for a new card. he had no idea that she had done it until they threatened to sue him for the #12,000 balance.
he signed the original application and promised to pay.
