And you are correct. Liljberg would have been bought and paid for and not forced off.

The whole point of Liljeburg jumping at the last minute was because the plaintiff bar figured out that Schlegel would not be their whipping boy and the specifically needed someone who they could rely on to protect the class actions and who would combat the looming tort reform efforts by legislating from the bench. They needed a forth justice to join Johnson, Hughes and Genovese and tilt the court to the left. Otherwise the gravy train is in serious jeopardy. Crain is a conservative, and fundamentally impartial and ethical. Those characteristics are the last thing the plaintiff bar needs right now.

Lilheburg is a good judge and actually listens to the evidence. Glad they sidelined Crain on this case
