I mean, there’s a legitimate argument that a large portion of lawyers are actively and intentionally making the state and country worse off for personal gain.
It’s not ALL the lawyers fault. But lawyers arguably bear the second most responsibility for the decline behind politicians. It’s a field in a bit of a weird position in that about a third of lawyers deserve deep, immense respect amongst the highest of all professions, but another third of them deserve absolutely none, and should probably be actively shun from society. That latter third are genuinely fricking things up.

It's a ctony relationship, lawyers and gubment. We elect lawyers to run things and they create a need, and more favorable environment, for lawyers.
