Not sure I feel about this one. I don’t feel any change in uniform from any religion is a good idea. The military is a uniform service that is supposed to have everyone dressing the same and looking the same. The beards will keep a gas mask from properly sealing. How will a Jewish soldier react if he sees or has to report to a superior wearing a turban? I don’t know. I hope it works out but it’s a heck of a lot easier to make everyone dress the same if they want to serve.

But chaplains cannot mention Christ in their preaching and praying!!

Bull crap on the new rules re uniforms - sheer hypocrisy re "tolerance"

Utter foolishness, cant wait for the cries of discrimination when some Air Force unit gets hit with gas and those clowns with beards cant get a proper seal on their gas mask.

Seems like using the military is the wrong place for social experiments.

I am against this.

Uniformity is important in my view. Some may argue that by not allowing a turbin/beard etc., it creates a policy of exclusion. My take...such is life...get over it.
One of the 10 commandments is "Thou shalt not kill," which may be counter to reality at times in the military. Get over it.

In short, killing goes against core Christian doctrine. You want to be Christian and serve, cool...just know that you may have to disobey your moral compass so others of your faith (who didn't serve) won't have to.

You know...sacrifice.

This personal (moral) sacrifice should apply to Sikhs, Jews, Hindus, Buddhists, and Muslims.
It is what it is. Shame on the Air Force for codifying division.

I know how I feel about it. It’s utter BS. Wish we could hit the reset button.

Didn't click on the link, but as someone stated earlier, I find it interesting that they are allowing this because for pilots, oxygen masks will not get a good seal over beards. This is why fire fighters, commercial airline pilots, etc. do not have beards.

The military has been and continues to be a big social experiment... I saw where the Army gave a soldier the right to wear a beard because he practiced paganism the other day...

Well, the Army pays for sex changes.

Our own government is trying to normalize all this bullshite.

Our government seems to be willing and ready to appease everyone except "normal" Americans.

People may have different views on what "normal" is;I've got my view also.

What I viewed as "normal" as a child has not changed.

Society has changed.I have not.

This makes me curious.

What do countries that have most of their military with this religious requirement do?

Do they just accept these guys are screwed in a gas attack or do they not even have gas masks in the first place because they can't afford them?

When Christians prayed in school, the Left complained about separating church and state.

Now it dose not matter to them.

Overall, like many above, it is not a huge deal. But also as above, uniforms are to promote uniformity and sense of team. The protective mask issues may also present a problem in certain environments where it matters.

Sikhs are some bad mean fighting fkrs, if we could get several thousand of them in a primary assault force it would be great, I could care less what they wear.
