Former Wildcats defensive coordinator Marcus Scott was approved as the new coach at Destrehan by the St. Charles Parish School Board upon the recommendation of principal Jason Madere.

Scott has great familiarity with Destrehan, having served as defensive coordinator of the Wildcats in 2016-17 before leaving to accept the job at John Ehret in 2018.
In two seasons as the Patriots’ head coach, Scott posted an impressive 20-5 mark, winning District 8-5A in each season.
In 2018, John Ehret reached the Class 5A semifinals, losing at West Monroe one step short of the state championship game. In 2019, the Patriots lost 34-7 at Captain Shreve in the opening round of the playoffs
