Passing Game Coordinator

How is that everyone is melting over our passing game coordinator. Joe Brady left - What will we do!?!
4 weeks of “We don’t have a passing game coordinator!” “Why aren’t we hiring a passing game coordinator?” “Who should be our next passing game coordinator?!”
LSU hires former NFL Head Coach/Offensive coordinator Scott Linehan - “He’s not good enough” “His offenses are predictable”
PASSING GAME COORDINATOR is just a fancy title for an offensive analyst... it’s a title that LSU practically invented to give Brady a boosted title... google passing game coordinator and all you will see is LSU results... why? Because it’s not a relevant position and almost EVERY other football team - NFL and CFB - doesn’t have one.
How is it that after we had one for one season that Everyone in the rant now thinks this is the key to being a successful team and if we don’t have the brightest and youngest coach that everyone knows about -even though Joe Brady was an unknown coach until 6 months ago... hell not even a coach barely - all of a sudden it’s the most important role on the staff.
Relax guys, we are doing fine.

Our PGC designed our offense last year
People acted like it was important because it was.
Brady won the fricking Broyles award.

Most people freaking out about the SL hire don’t seem to understand what Passing Game Coordinator is and how’s it’s extremely different than being an offensive coordinator.
But that’s the rant for you!
SL is a good hire and will flourish as the PGC.

You're right. It's not about who is in what title, it's just getting the right people on your staff in general. The only titles that really mean anything are OC/DC/HC, from there on, everyone else is just frosting.

Well that's false. LSU was already using the title prior to Brady ever being hired. Sullivan first had the title. And its not like LSU made up the title out of thin air.

False again. Here are some others:
Brandon Streeter - Clemson PGC/QB Coach (well look there, even mighty Clemson uses a PGC)
Cortez Hankton - UGA PGC (and Georgia too...they must all be copying off LSU... )
Tee Martin - TN PGC
Jorge Munoz - Baylor PGC
Joe Jon Finley - Ole Miss PGC
Will Stein - UTSA PGC
Craig Stutzman - WSU PGC
Hell, the one we just hired held the title of PGC for the Dallas Cowboys at one point. So shall I keep going?
And to say it is not a relevant position is absurd. If it isn't relevant, then why the hell have it?

LSU’s passing game coordinator is the 2nd highest paid coach on the staff with Steve Ensminger lol
You don’t know what you are talking about

2005 Todd Monken, WR Coach and Passing Game Coordinator at LSU (Les' first staff at LSU).
From 2006 LSU Football Media Guide
Todd Monken Wide Receivers/Passing Game Coordinator
Another first-year coach on the LSU staff ... Serves as the Tigers’ wide receivers coach and passing game coordinator... Came to LSU after a three-year stint on Les Miles’ staff at Oklahoma State ... Oversees one of the nation’s most-talented and deepest groups of wide receivers LINK

Scott Linehan was Passing Game Coordinator at Dallas in 2014.
This is from back in 2009.
Billy Gonzales has joined the LSU staff as wide receivers coach and passing game coordinator, after spending the past five years coaching receivers at Florida.
So the title of Passing Game Coordinator wasn't just invented last season by Coach O.

The biggest thing for me was that we ran the Saints 2 minute drill as our base offense. We threw in some RPO concepts but for the most part the passing routes and philosophy was Shaun Payton’s and Drew Brees’ invention. It was what they ran and perfected over a stellar career that made Drew the passing GOAT.
LSU ran the Saints offensive scheme and many of us would have preferred to keep that continuity by hiring someone with A Saints Background and not what seems the antithesis of a Saints background and someone that doesn’t know or have any experience what so ever with the scheme.
Now this dude might be dynamite and be the best thing ever. I don’t know him. I just would have been personally more confident if we hired someone that worked in the Saints offensive room breaking down film and scheming plays with Drew and Shaun.

Tettleton and Callaway are gonna prove to be more valuable than initially thought.
i think they are gonna have their hands in every facet of this offense.
orgeron is promising no deviation from the aggressiveness that we saw in 2019. if anything, he wants it to be accelerated even further.
yeah yeah, linehan this and that, but i'm betting we don't see that much of a departure in philosophy here.
