Yea anyone who questions the soundness of this decision needs to know the sport better.

Disagree

Turning your back on Merica is fricked up and might cost him marketing $ in long run

Mondo has deals with Puma and Omega right now. He just got a bonus from Puma for the World Record. He’s not costing himself any dollars. He broke the World Record at 20 just months after deciding to become a PRO. I think his path decision has been solid so far.
I think that winning a Gold Medal for the USA is a possibility one day. His Olympic career as a vaulter will carry him thru at least 3 Games.

being guarenteed a chance o compete on the biggest stage in the world is worth more than anything. If something were to go wrong and he didnt make it out of the trials this summer he'd cost himself more

honestly I wouldnt be surprised to see him switch back to the states if he gets gold this cycle. his legacy/advertising potential would pretty much be cemented at that point.

He already has sponsors, how much more pole vaulting marketing money do you think there is to go around?
